So everything is still a bit of a mess at the moment categorization-wise but hopefully cleaning everything up will embed the changes with the SOURCE FILES and not on google's cloud so I don't lose everything this time around. The 'way too early' review here is that the app has done a great job playing and buffering the upcoming tracks in fact its done a better job than Google Music. I am now back to my source material so this is a slow process. So in the 2-3 weeks I've been going through my library I find myself going back in time 10 years since the metadata I so carefully curated in Google Music all these years is gone. Streaming music in my vehicles using regular Plex in the past was a disaster it would buffer and hang and in general trying to enjoy music through what is primarily a video-streaming app was problematic and clunky. Downloaded "plexamp" and have been very impressed so far. As such I'm migrating my 80,000+ track library back to Plex. Simply put, there's little there for me and how I listen to music to make it worth paying for. Google Music was a grand experiment but alas, YT music sucks so badly that even at my grandfathered $7.99/mo rate I'm ditching it. So in the year 2020, I have come full circle back to full ownership of my music library.
